About Bisbee, AZ

In the heart of the Mule Mountains, 100 miles southeast of Tucson, is a quaint little mining town, Bisbee, Arizona.

Bisbee was founded in 1880 and due to the mining of copper quickly grew into the most populated city in Arizona.

In 1892 Phelps Dodge built a railroad into Bisbee and began it's operations. Until the early 1970's Phelps Dodge continued to mine copper in Bisbee. When operations closed most of the townspeople were forced to leave.

However, artists, inspired by Bisbee's natural beauty and historic value, began to restore and preserve it. These new settlers transformed Bisbee into a culturally diversified showplace for arts, crafts and music. Bisbee is now host to a wide variety of yearly events.

With an altitude of 5,300 feet above sea level, Bisbee's average temperature is approximately 65 degrees, insuring pleasant weather throughout the year.
